Introduction:?The Memorial Mausoleum for King of Burni?covers a total area of 17 hectares, with 80,000 m2?of cultural relics protection area, mainly including five zones: Memorial Pavilion, Shinto, Burial Mound, History Exhibition Hall,?and Chinese Friendship Hall.?Among them, the 1:1 replica of “Tombstone Tablet”?in the Memorial Pavilion?is also displayed in the Brunei National Museum of History. In April 2006, Princess Masna of Brunei visited Nanjing to inaugurate the “China-Brunei Friendship Hall” in the Memorial Mausoleum for King of Burni. TheMemorial Mausoleumis structured with the main body of cultural relics, the display hall for the Tomb of the King of Burni,?the Chinese Friendship Hall, etc.The Park has held commemorative activities such as the 15thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei, the 30thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei, and the 10thanniversary of the establishment of sound?relations between Nanjing and Bandar Seri Begawan. It has become?an major window to showcase Nanjing’s foreign relations.
In 2001, it was enlisted in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The Memorial Mausoleum for King of Burni is an important historical witness to the friendly exchanges between China and other countries worldwide. It has made?positive contributions to promoting cultural exchanges in the world and enriching the humanistic connotation of a community of shared future for all mankind.In 2011, Nanjing and Brunei Seri Begawan became sister cities.In November 2018, the two cities renewed the sister cities?agreement under the wittness of General Secretary Mr. Xi Jinping. It is becoming a paragon?of friendship interaction between cities along the “Belt and Road”.
