It was developed after extensive consultations across all sections of the city.
The first of the 10 strategy directions was to build “a globally competitive an innovative city, an international gateway with globally oriented people, jobs and businesses”.
A digitally enabled city is a key to achieving that vision. The evidence coming in from around the world shows us that the cities which are thriving are those whose governance, city environment, infrastructure and communications best enable digital collaboration.
Digital Strategy
It was designed to both transform our own organisation – how we operate and service our City communities – and also to equip our residents, visitors and businesses and to create opportunities for them in the digital age.
Smart City Strategic Framework
Over 95 per cent of all City businesses are classified as small-to-medium enterprises and they contribute about half of the City’s annual output, so they need to be supported in becoming equipped for this new age.
The?Digital Strategy and the Smart City Strategic Framework, and their implementations, have received very positive feedback from residents.
